About Marine Area 8-2

Marine Area 8-2 encompasses Possession Sound and the waters around Everett, including Mukilteo and Tulalip Bay. This area benefits from the Snohomish River estuary, which feeds nutrients into the sound and attracts concentrations of baitfish.

Possession Bar is one of the most well-known salmon fishing spots in the entire Puget Sound system, consistently producing Chinook from spring through fall. The area also offers accessible shore-based fishing options from Mukilteo and Jetty Island.
